What is the Color Me Rad 5K?
It’s a 5K fun run inspired by the Hindu Festival of Colors, otherwise known as Holi. Participants are encouraged to start off with a white t-shirt, and end up looking like a kindergarten art class gone oh-so-right after a 3.1-mile jaunt through the Color Me Rad course and color stations.
Each section of the run features a “ColorBomb” where runners are bedecked in a riotous rain of non-toxic, non-rash-inducing colored cornstarch in blue, green, pink, purple, and yellow. Plus, new this year: personal color blasters giving you even more color in the palm of your hand!
An excellent 5K for first-timers— in fact, more than 50% of Color Me Rad participants are first-timers!
This run is for anyone and everyone who loves getting silly and having a good time. No worries about winning medals or being the fastest runner; Color Me Rad is non-competitive and untimed.
With its explosion of color and festival-like atmosphere, Color Me Rad is an especially awesome introduction to running for little ones. Kids 7 and under run free with a paying adult; it’s a fantastically fun way for families to spend the day. (Not to mention the non-stop photo opps! Make sure to get a group shot before you begin.) After the race, hang out and celebrate with music, contests, and epic color throws. It’s a party you don’t want to miss.
Color Me Rad 5K has races in more than 100 locations across North America. Paid registrants receive a RAD shirt, sunglasses, race bib, tattoo, and color pack.
